Journalism scholarships in Virginia

• Intermarkets-Lucido Journalism Scholarship: Provides $5,000 scholarship to "an outstanding Virginia graduating high school senior who will be majoring in journalism and who promotes and understands the importance of non-biased journalism in the United States media." The application is due April 30th.

• Luke 1:3 Journalim Scholarhip: Patrick Henry College, a Christian college in Virginia, is offering a four-year, full-tuition scholarship for an applicant who plans to study journalism. Deadline: February 1.

• Washington Post High School Writing Seminar and Scholarship Program: Washington, D.C. area high school seniors spend Saturdays in March learning about writing news and feature stories from Post reporters and editors. At program's conclusion, students write a news story and receive critiques. Top two students receive $2,500 college scholarship. Deadline: February 7.
