2009 summer internship applications due soon!

The summer may have just ended, but it's already time to start planning for a journalism internship next summer.

Many of the top newspapers and magazines have early fall deadlines for their 2009 paid summer internship programs. For example:
These are great internships, if you can get them. You'll make good money (the NYT pays $924 per week), get to do substantive work (take photos, write articles, etc.) and learn from the best and brightest journalists in the world.

But the applications can be very involved. The Post, for example, requires essays and recommendation letters. So, start working on your application ASAP. This isn't something you can do the day before it's due.
