Alaska newspaper seeks freelance writers
The Alaska Pioneer Press, a small monthly newspaper with a regularly-updated website, seeks freelance writers to cover Alaska's Mat-Su region.
Freelancers will cover local issues and activities/pastimes of importance to the Matanuska Valley and Susitna Valley regions between Houston and Trapper Creek, and also in the Healy area. Topics of interest include winter sports such as skiing, snow shoeing and snow machining.
"The pay per article is very low (sorry) but writing for the Alaska Pioneer Press is a great way to get some clips," the ad states. "We also welcome free column submissions for those who want to put a personal touch on events, school activities and club activities in their communities."
To apply, e-mail editor@akpioneerpress.com.
