Journalism contest on real estate coverage

You have until February 20 to submit your entry for a journalism contest that awards prize money for the best stories on mortgage finance, foreclosures, commercial and residential real estate, green building, home design and myriad other topics in the broad field of real estate. (Who hasn't written something about that this past year?)

The National Association of Real Estate Editors will award a total of $9,000 for first place winners in 30 categories, including $1,500 for the best overall story and $500 for the best freelance story. There's even a $250 award for young journalists -- “Best Entry by a Young Journalist” recognizes work from individuals 30 years or younger.

Everyone is eligible to apply, although non-NAREE members must pay an entry fee. Entry form is available online.
