Entry-level reporters @ Texas newspapers

Three newspapers in Texas are hiring entry-level reporters and recent graduates:
  • The Terrell Tribune, a small daily newspaper about 30 minutes from Dallas, seeks a general assignment reporter. "Great opportunity for a recent college grad," the ad states. E-mail resume and clips to Publisher Michael Greshan at publisher@terrelltribune.com.
  • The Nueces County Record Star, a weekly newspaper about 20 minutes from Corpus Christi, seeks a full-time sports/news reporter. "Duties include covering local sporting and news events," the ad states. "Experience preferred, but not required." E-mail resume and clips to Managing Editor Christopher Maher at christopher.maher@recordstar.com.
  • The Jasper Newsboy, a weekly newspaper located near the Texas-Louisiana border, seeks a journalist who can do it all -- cover sports, general news and features in addition to photography and design, layout and pagination. "Experience and/or degree preferred but will train the right person," the ad states. E-mail resume, clips and references to Publisher Jeff Reedy at jreedy@hearstnp.com.
