Paid student media blogger

UWIRE, a wire service that provides news about colleges, is seeking a part-time community editor to focus on student media.

"Qualified applicants will already know the college media world and have dynamic ideas on how to move campus media forward and connect it to the professional industry," the ad states. "The editor's primary job will be to help launch, maintain and promote a UWIRE.com blog designed to highlight news, changes and innovative ideas in student journalism. The editor will also comment on specific events and general trends within the community."

The blogging gig pays $200 per month, and bonuses are available based on Web site traffic.

To apply, e-mail a cover letter, resume and a list of at least five story ideas as well as thoughts on ways to develop the blog to jobs@uwire.com. Type "Part-time Community Editor" in the subject line.
