Summer internships @ NYC newspapers
Norwood News and Mount Hope Monitor, biweekly newspapers in the Bronx section of New York City, seek two or three reporting interns for the summer.
Interns will be paid a small fee per article and/or photograph that appears in the newspaper. Academic credit can also be arranged. Interns must be able to commit at least 12 hours a week, ideally on consecutive days.
"We rely heavily on contributions from our interns," the ad states. "You will not be pushing papers or making coffee. You will be writing serious news stories and other feature articles in a fascinating urban environment."
Writing and/or reporting experience is preferred, but not required. Send a cover letter, resume and at least two clips or writing samples to norwoodnews@norwoodnews.org or fax to (718) 324-2917.
