The Boston Herald, a 200,000-circulation daily newspaper, is seeking a part-time news editorial assistant.

"In this entry-level position, EAs report to the city editors and work closely with reporters, editors and photographers to facilitate daily news coverage. They fax, file, take dictation and answer the phone," the ad states. "EAs also may report and write news stories, which makes the position a fine launchpad for talented journalists. The position requires three to four 7.5-hour shifts per week, including at least one night shift and one weekend shift."
