Entry-level sports reporters in South

Newspapers in North Carolina, Arkansas and Texas are seeking entry-level sports reporters:
  • The Lenoir News-Topic, a 10,000-circulation daily newspaper near Appalachian State University, seeks a writer to cover a variety of sports "Will seriously consider recent college graduates who have experience covering sports for their college paper."   • The Alleghany News, a weekly newspaper located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of northwestern N.C., seeks a reporter for its one person sports department. "This full-time position includes covering the various sports for the local high school as well as other community sporting events as necessary." Knowledge of digital photography, Photoshop, QuarkXPress and Mac computer experience necessary. Residency in Alleghany County will be required.
