Journalism scholarship for Washington & Oregon students
A $500 scholarship is available for students from Eastern Washington or Eastern Oregon majoring in journalism at any college or university.
The deadline to apply got the Society of Professional Journalist's William O. Douglas Chapter's Laurie J. Williams Scholarship is May 31.
"Applications must be accompanied by transcripts, a cover letter stating the applicant's journalistic goals, three recently published writing samples, two letters of recommendation from teachers, professors or editors and three detailed descriptions of stories the student would pursue if given the opportunity, including an outline, source contacts and ideas for supporting art or graphics," the notice states.
