Assistant editor job @ Boulder, Colorado magazine

Yellow Scene Magazine, a glossy, general interest, 70,000-circulation monthly magazine in Boulder County and the North Metro area, seeks a part-time assistant editor.

The assistant editor will work 20 hours per week to assist the editor with duties that include, but may not be limited to, updating and maintaining the calendar of events on the web and in print, uploading articles to the website, assisting the graphics department on deadline, researching articles, writing news features as assigned, managing paid listings, and proofreading. We are looking for someone who is willing and able to jump in and help with whatever jobs come up. This position has the potential to go fulltime in April of 2010; at that time, you will work with the editor and publisher to develop a job description, which will include more writing and creative work.

Position opens Jan. 3. Must be available for two days of training in December. Fulltime position opens in April. Pay range: $1,000-$1,200 a month, depending on experience
