Editorial assistant job @ D.C. newspaper

The Washington Diplomat, a monthly newspaper that serves the diplomatic community in Washington, is seeking a part-time editorial assistant for 10-30 hours per week. Pay is $10 per hour.

The assistant would help the editorial department in all aspects of producing our publication. Responsibilities include researching and writing regular segments of the paper — including foreign cinema and events calendars — fact checking and editing stories, covering embassy-related events, and updating our website, which would entail research and information gathering. Qualified candidates must possess strong writing skills and knowledge of international affairs, be technologically savvy, self-reliant and deadline-driven. The position offers the opportunity to come away with clips, participate in the editing process, and make contacts within the city’s international community.

To apply, send cover letter, resume, and three writing samples by e-mail to: editor111@washdiplomat.com.
