New media coordinator job @ ESPN Chicago

ESPN is seeking an Associate Editor/New Media Coordinator for its ESPNChicago.com website. Position is part time and based in Chicago.

Scope of Responsibility:
-Responsible for working with Chicago.com edit team on maintenance of ESPNChicago.com’s radio section and social networking efforts.
-On a daily basis (Monday – Friday) create content to support ESPN 1000’s radio shows, station contests, promotions and advertisers.
-Build carousel packages and headlines for the radio index, including photos, audio and video.
-Design graphics for pages and banner ads. Light editing of audio and video.

Required Qualifications:
• BS/BA degree in communication arts, journalism or new media or equivalent combination of education experience.
• 1+years experience in new media and social media.
• Have understanding and appreciation of Chicago news and story play.
• Experience in online media content preparation required.
• Must be excellent headline writer and be able to present and tell stories in a tight space.
• Must show good judgment in prioritizing and selecting online content from a variety of sources.
• Must have familiarity with graphic design and a strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, or a comparable photo editing software.
• Must possess background or quickly become competent in HTML and audio/video editing.
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and work well with a variety of people in an office setting.
