Paid media research internship in D.C.
Atlantic Media Company’s Summer Media Research Internships offer high-achieving college juniors, seniors a unique opportunity to help shape the strategic direction of a dynamic media organization.
Interns will gain first-hand experience conducting market and competitive research to influence the future of all our media properties – The Atlantic, National Journal, and Government Executive. From the unique vantage point of the Corporate Research team, interns will support marketing, advertising, business development and editorial initiatives, gaining exposure to the various business models, markets and media channels.
Atlantic Media recruits for two personal attributes in its candidates. The first is force of intellect—often reflected in exceptional academic performance at a competitive university. The second attribute is a personal spirit of generosity in line with Atlantic Media’s corporate culture of modesty and service.
We seek individuals who exemplify these attributes as well as possess a creative gift for developing innovative ideas and a desire to contribute to the products that Atlantic Media offers.
Additional Characteristics of the Ideal Candidate:
- Resourceful and proactive—able to locate and procure difficult-to-find data and information, and identify new and better alternative sources of information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills—able to present findings in a clear and concise way
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and contribute to new ideas in a diverse, fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment
- Attentive to detail
- Web-savvy—experienced with online media and collaborative tools in media or a related field
- Excellent quantitative and data-management skills
The internship will run for a 2-4 month period. Hours are flexible to accommodate intern schedules, but interns are expected to work at least 25 hours a week. Interns will be paid at an hourly rate. Should your university allow it, we would be pleased to have students use the internship for college credit.
