The Coos Bay (Ore.) World, an 11,000-circulation afternoon daily serving Oregon's South Coast, seeks a beat reporter to cover cops, courts and general assignment.

"We'll consider both experienced and entry-level applicants, as long as you're dedicated to writing news that connects with readers," the ad states. "As part of our small but ambitious staff, you'll need to balance daily breaking news with insightful, high-impact enterprise. You'll need a bachelor's degree, an inquisitive mind, sharp writing skills and an appreciation for small-town life.
