Entry-level political journalism job in New York

Remapping Debate, an online domestic public policy news journal, is offering a one-year paid journalism internship. The full-time position is based in Manhattan, pays minimum wage, provides benefits and begins in June.

The heart of our RD's work is original reporting. We take seriously the idea that the job of journalists is to question and to illuminate. We focus on the 'why' and 'why not' questions that most others ignore.

Our journalism interns must be people who want to use an "apprenticeship" year to hone serious, high-quality journalism skills. People who are not afraid of asking hard questions, who think that it is worth the time to research, and who believe that context is important.

You must have excellent research, writing, and analytical skills. It is essential that you be adept at conducting probing interviews of both friendly and not-so-friendly sources. Facility with data analysis and visualization a plus.

Apply online by March 31.
