The Mendocino Beacon, a 2,500-circulation weekly newspaper in Northern California, is seeking a community news reporter.
Beat centers on observing and reporting on local government¹s process, fiscal management and decisions that impact Mendocino County North Coast residents. Attends finance and board meetings, including some evenings, and occasional weekend assignments.
Reporters also paginate, proofread and work on special sections. Strong listening, organizational, interviewing, fact checking and writing skills, professional demeanor and ethics essential. Knowledge of AP Style, Photoshop, Quark, photography are a plus. Benefits available.
