Entry-level reporter job @ N.C. newspaper

The Avery Journal-Times, a 5,300-circulation weekly newspaper, is seeking a full-time staff writer.

The position involves court reporting, feature writing, hard news writing and copy editing, as well as administrative duties and attendance at governmental meetings. Applicants should demonstrate attention to detail, a positive attitude, people skills, a respect for deadlines, time management skills and computer skills, as well as be willing to take on more than one dozen story assignments each week. Previous journalism experience and/or related university studies is preferred.
