Reporter job @ North Carolina newspaper

The Salisbury Post, a 20,000-circulation daily newspaper in Rowan County, N.C., seeks a reporter to cover police and emergency services and to serve as the primary provider of content for its website, www.salisburypost.com.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, inquisitive and competitive in an environment where web and mobile technologies have made breaking news coverage a bigger priority than ever before. This reporter will be expected to write quickly, take photos and shoot and edit video, often filing from the field. This reporter will be comfortable using social media to engage readers and keep them informed. He or she must be able to balance those responsibilities with finding and telling the stories behind the news.
