Entry-level reporters @ Montana newspaper

The Sidney Herald, a 3,100-circulation biweekly newspaper located in a small community in northeastern Montana, is seeking a full-time general assignment reporter and a full-time sports reporter. Reporting experience is preferred, but we will consider top-notch recent graduates.

The ideal news reporter candidate should be experienced in reporting, writing, photography and have pagination skills with Quark and InDesign. Video experience a plus. Most important we seek someone who embraces local news, wants to meet people and tell their stories.

The ideal sports reporter candidate should be experienced in sports reporting, covering football, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, track, golf, baseball and hockey. The candidate should have excellent writing, photography and pagination skills with Quark and InDesign. Some video experience is a plus. Most important we seek someone who embraces local sports, can communicate well with people and is open to working flexible hours.
