Editorial assistant job @ NYC night life website

UrbanDaddy, a New York City-based online magazine about lifestyle and nightlife, seeks a nightlife editorial assistant.

You will get to be a part of the inner workings of a leading daily internet publication. The perfect candidate will be smart and savvy with a basic knowledge of the NY nightlife and restaurant culture.

Responsibilities:
Attend events and report back to editorial director
Source new and upcoming venues, conduct interviews and fact check as needed
Go on local scouting and information gathering assignments
Work with our guides team to source for and update existing applications
Participate in calendaring sessions, editorial and creative meetings
Conduct research for stories and upcoming events and parties

Qualifications:
Must have excellent writing and communication skills
Must be highly organized, efficient and a hard worker
Must be sociable and outgoing while professionally representing the UrbanDaddy brand
Must have excellent reporting skills and a motivation to generate great stories
Must be comfortable navigating the city and attending a variety of high-end/artistic events
Strong interpersonal and phone skills are required
MUST have a love for NYC nightlife and a desire to go out and have fun
*Editorial experience a plus

Compensation & Benefits:
This is a freelance position with the potential to turn full time for the right candidate. Compensation will be a weekly rate based on the negotiated schedule.

Requirements:
Full time, 4 days and 1 night a week, schedule will vary
