Entry-level reporter at small newspaper near Sacramento

The River News-Herald & Isleton Journal, a newspaper located 45 minutes southwest of Sacramento, is seeking an entry-level reporter/copy editor.

A background in sports is a plus, but the position will be reporting on a variety of news (crime, government, school board, business, and features) throughout the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. This is not a 9 to 5 job, some weekend work is required. Knowledge of Quark is a plus.

The RNH is a great place to develop as a writer and gain knowledge about many relevant California issues unknown to the majority of the public. We're located in the hub of northern California, as Rio Vista is 45 minutes southwest of Sacramento, 20 minutes west of Lodi, 20 minutes east of Fairfield and Oakland is about 50 minutes. The RNH is the main news source in the Delta, and it is our goal to continually
improve and fulfill the role of publishing quality hyper local journalism.

To apply, email three writing samples and resume to rveditor[at]citlink.net/
