Paid summer internships @ L.A. Times

The Los Angeles Times, the 4th-largest daily newspaper in the U.S., is offering 10-week paid summer internships in its news, sports, business, features, Washington bureau, photography and online departments.

Undergraduate college students, as well as graduates who have finished school within six months of the internship start, are eligible. Little training is offered, according to the newspaper's website, so previous internship experience is preferred. Interns also need a driver's license and access to a car.

Applications are due January 1. Submit a cover letter, a resume, a one-page personal essay, up to 12 work samples and a list of three references to: Randy Hagihara, Senior Editor for Recruitment, 202 W. 1st St., Los Angeles, CA 90012.

For further information, contact Hagihara at 1-800-LATIMES, Ext. 77992 or at randy.hagihara@latimes.com.
