Paid internship @ Yakima Herald-Republic

The Yakima Herald-Republic, a 35,000-circulation daily newspaper in Washington state, is offering a paid summer reporting internship.

"We are looking for a hard-working reporting intern to write for Page 1 and local news. This is a paid internship that runs from June until late August, with flexibility of dates based on your schedule," the ad states. "...Applicants who are recent college graduates are preferred. Spanish-language skills are a must. If no suitable graduates are available, we will consider students currently working toward a college degree."

To apply, submit a cover letter explaining why you’re interested in the Herald-Republic, what you can contribute and what you hope to learn, as well as available dates; a resume, up to 10 work samples and a list of three references. Letters of reference also are acceptable. Applications must be postmarked or e-mailed by May 7.
