Entry-level health reporter job @ U.S. News & World Report

U.S. News & World Report, a 1.2 million circulation news magazine, has an immediate 1-year opening for an entry-level health reporter. The full-time job with benefits is located in Washington, D.C.

Applicants should be a "college graduate with a diverse background in writing, reporting, and online media." Responsibilities include: Researching and writing Web stories for the Health section with an eye toward consumer news on diet, fitness, diabetes/heart disease prevention, and other wellness/prevention topics; working with editors and Web producers to craft those stories to appeal to and reach the broadest possible online audience and to appeal to major portals, such as Yahoo! and MSN.com; compiling HealthBuzz, a daily roundup of the latest health news and U.S. News Health content; creating slideshows and Web packages; other duties as assigned.
