News 12 Networks is the country's first, largest, and most watched 24-hour local television news network. The Network is made up of 7 individual local news channels serving the areas of Long Island, New Jersey, Southwestern Connecticut, Westchester County, Hudson Valley, the Bronx, and Brooklyn. News 12 Networks, owned and operated by Cablevision Systems Corporation, is a cable exclusive service, reaching approximately 3.8 million households in the New York market.

News 12 The Bronx & News 12 New Jersey are each looking for a talented and energetic Anchor/Reporter that can write, copy edit and present news coverage with ease and comfort. This person must have strong on camera delivery and the ability to adlib with co-anchors and during breaking news coverage. Our ideal candidate is a strong writer with sharp news judgment and the ability to work well with others. They are expected to ensure all content meets News 12 Network standards for journalistic integrity and production quality. The candidate must meet deadlines, work well under pressure and handle the demands of an early morning shift. In addition to being part of the on-air morning news team, this position also requires general assignment and feature reporting.

Responsibilities include: Generating story ideas, gathering information, and producing stories and other content for all platforms and in a manner that is clear, relevant and meaningful to news consumers. Must be able to develop sources, maintains contacts and pursues leads that result in original stories. Will be required to represent News 12 positively in the community in a courteous and professional manner. Participates in promotional activities including public appearances. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. Responds to breaking news and other urgent newsroom situations as required. Must be able to coach and train as required. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of four years full-time professional news reporting experience and two years of anchoring experience. Must have consistent outstanding on-air performance, exceptional news judgment and extensive knowledge of local and national current events, newsmakers, and issues. Must also have the ability to conduct in-depth research and pursue investigative stories effectively and must have excellent news writing ability for all platforms. Must maintain professional personal appearance as defined by News 12 management. Proficiency in newsgathering equipment and computers is required. Extensive knowledge of news production techniques and the demonstrated ability to develop engaging presentations are required. Must be able to consistently enhance stories by providing insight and perspective and have the ability to think quickly and respond appropriately in high-pressure situations. Acknowledgment of professional achievement in the form of significant awards or other industry recognition preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and the flexibility to work any assigned shift. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
