News 12 Networks is the country's first, largest, and most watched 24-hour local television news network. The Network is made up of 7 individual local news channels serving the areas of Long Island, New Jersey, Southwestern Connecticut, Westchester County, Hudson Valley, the Bronx, and Brooklyn. News 12 Networks, owned and operated by Cablevision Systems Corporation, is a cable exclusive service, reaching approximately 3.8 million households in the New York market.
News 12 New Jersey is looking for the right person to control the video and audio final product, including inserting commercials, recording and playing back programming, maintaining logs and monitoring for quality for all News 12 services. Monitor on-air signal and maintain quality standards. Maintain the program log and assist traffic department with changes. Insert commercials and give commercial cues to studio. Record or store programs and program segments for playback. Play back programming to air. Upload commercials into storage for playback. Identify and assist with troubleshooting equipment problems. Coordinate repairs and maintenance. Identify problems and take prompt corrective action. Coordinate activities and on-air playback including training. Represent News 12 services in courteous and professional manner.
The ideal candidate needs a minimum of one-year experience in broadcast/cable environment with basic knowledge of production equipment and production technique, computer based production equipment as well as basic knowledge of video/audio signal and tape dynamics. Must have strong understanding of Harris automation, Profile XP, and Saturn switchers. Must have the ability to work as a member of a team as well as to work independently in the absence of a supervisor. Must have demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines as well as the ability to make accurate and quick decisions to maintain integrity of operations. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Cablevision is an equal opportunity employer and drug-free workplace.
