Junior staff writer job @ CFO magazine
CFO, a monthly magazine with 450,000 readers that covers the information needs of CFOs and other strategic financial decision makers, seeks a junior staff writer. Position is based in Boston.
An applicant must: possess a high level of intellectual curiosity (be prepared to give examples of how you have passionately tackled subjects that are foreign to you); have past experience writing short articles (approximately 600-800 words) in a 24-hour period based on interviews with 2-3 sources; use impeccable grammar and spelling (you will be given on-site writing and editing tests); be a self-starter.
Applicants also will be given additional consideration if they: can demonstrate an ability to build an article around quantitative data, or use quantitative data to support the thesis of the article; have taken courses in corporate finance, economics, or accounting; have experience writing about topics related to corporate finance; have experience writing non-technical articles about technical topics; are not unafraid to politely challenge writing or editing errors by their peers or supervisors; have a history of high academic performance and/or industry recognition for their writing ability.
