The Bulletin Newspapers, a chain of four weekly newspapers in the Boston area, is seeking al full time reporter to cover general assignment stories in Boston and Norwood, Mass.

Must be able to work as a team with our other reporters. Salary is $25k to start with a salary bump / review in 90 days. Applicants must have a car and their own digital camera is required. Experience a must but willing to train the right person with a journalism degree. Daily reporting to our Hyde Park (Boston) office is required. Start immediately. Work schedule is a combination of afternoon and night meetings.

Harvard Magazine is seeking an entry-level editorial assistant to manage editorial processes for production, maintenance, and marketing of its website. '

The magazine is an editorially independent, bimonthly magazine that keeps alumni connected to each other and their university by reporting on alumni affairs, Harvard's challenges and opportunities, and the intellectual life of the University. We are a small staff, open to creative ideas and eager to make our website more dynamic and provide a richer online experience for our readers.

The position's responsibilities include managing production of online issues of the magazine; managing production of multimedia Web Extra content that accompanies and complements the print issues; writing engaging copy for and overseeing production of e-mail newsletters and other promotional vehicles-and expanding the array of such vehicles; managing the magazine's social media presence; and performing website production and maintenance tasks.

In addition to these production-oriented responsibilities, the successful candidate will also be responsible for reporting and writing stories, principally for online publication. The online editorial associate will need to think strategically, suggesting new ideas for connection and integration between print and Web products, and between the magazine's website and others.

Bachelor's degree preferred; demonstrated news judgment, news writing ability, ability to produce on deadline; strong knowledge of Web writing style; demonstrated proficiency in creating content and marketing language for websites and social media; experience at one or more websites or publications with an online presence; previous work with a Web content management system, and experience with multimedia production and social media in a work setting, are pluses but not requirements; familiarity with Harvard a plus; familiarity with universities or higher-education institutions and their alumni a plus. The Watertown Cable Access Center, a public access TV channel in the Boston area, seeks a part-time news director for their live, weekly newscast.

"The ideal candidate must be able to create compelling, succinct, and clear news stories from raw material such as unedited video, reporter notes, telephone conversations, and desk notes," the ad states. "The position also includes shooting, editing, writing and even some reporting. Must have the ability to work with reporters, writers and sports producers, most of whom are volunteers, while making editorial and content decisions.
