Paid 6-month journalism internship @ VIA magazine

VIA magazine, the AAA members' magazine for Northern California, Oregon, Utah, Nevada, Montana, Alaska, Wyoming, and southern Idaho that reaches more than 3 million households, is offering a paid editorial internship in its Walnuts Creek, Calif. office. The position is full-time for six months and begins in February.

VIA is the AAA members' magazine for Northern California, Oregon, Utah, Nevada, Montana, Alaska, Wyoming, and southern Idaho and reaches more than 3 million households.

The magazine's offices are located in a brand-new building within a 10-minute walk from the Pleasant Hill BART station.

The intern will have an opportunity to work on the following areas:
Fact checking feature stories, sidebars, and columns
Writing for the Events sections
Writing small items for the front-of-the-book sections
Writing and researching sidebars
Assisting with VIA Magazine Online
Researching members' questions and responding to them
Tracking down photos
Mailing magazines to writers and photographers

Required experience and skills:
Strong writing, phone, reporting, and research skills
Detail-oriented and organized
Interested in pursuing a career in magazine journalism
Previous published writing clips (magazine, newspaper, legitimate and noteworthy publication)
