Paid summer internship @ Easton (Pa.) Express-Times

The Easton, Penna. Express-Times, a 50,000-circulation daily newspaper located on the Pennsylvania-New Jersey border near Allentown, is offering a paid summer internship.

The Donna L. Troxell Memorial Internship commemorates the contributions of former Express Living Section Editor Donna Troxell, who died of cancer in November 1985.

Applicants should display Donna’s qualities and characteristics, including commitment
to journalistic excellence, love of community and its residents, desire to help those in need, and an upbeat attitude toward life and people.

This year’s recipient will serve in the paid internship during the summer of 2011.

Applicants must:
* Live or attend college in The Express-Times circulation area.
* Have completed at least the sophomore year of an accredited college or university by the time the internship begins.
* Exhibit strong interest in journalism, although not necessarily a journalism major.
* Send a letter of application telling in 250 words or less why they would like to be considered for the internship.
* Send clips of journalistic work along with references.
* Be available for an interview during February.

Applications must be postmarked no later than Feb. 4, 2011.
