Paid summer internship @ Wisconsin newspaper

The Journal Times of Racine, Wis., a 27,000 circulation daily newspaper, is now accepting applications for a 2011 summer internship. This will be a full-time internship paid at $8.00 an hour.

Our interns do not get coffee, unless they want a cup. You will be working as a newspaper reporter, covering Racine County. This is an opportunity for you to accumulate plenty of bylines, work hard, have fun and learn a lot.

You will receive intensive on-the-job training, including a focus on online journalism. You'll even have your own beats, with guidance and support from experienced journalists.

We are a Lee Enterprises newspaper. Lee Enterprises is a premier provider of local news, information and advertising in primarily midsize markets, with 49 daily newspapers and a joint interest in four others, online sites and more than 300 weekly newspaper and specialty publications in 23 states.

Ideal applicants will be entering their senior year in college and will have writing experience with a college newspaper or other publication. Clarity of writing and the ability to take initiative are also important.
