Paid internships @ CNN's Washington bureau

CNN is offering two paid summer internships in its Washington Newsgathering Department. Hours will be flexible and may include weekends.

Internships run from June 6 to August 12. Interns are paid at minimum-wage course credit is available. Students must have completed their sophomore year in college prior to the start of the internship. In addition, students may not have graduated college or graduate school prior to the start of the internship. International students may apply.

Interns will learn how CNN plans stories and orchestrates live breaking news coverage and daily programming. Interns will shadow and assist coverage managers, assignment editors, beat leaders, producers, live producers, photojournalists and news assistants. Intern duties include research, fact-checking, tapes logging, assistance with interviews and participation at press events. Interns should come away with sharper editorial and writing skills, exposure to leading technology and increased knowledge of the U.S. government and political system.
