Management-level News Editor position will play a key role strategizing, then creating, our newsroom of the future. Desire to engage with reporters, editors and readers is essential. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, yet multifunctional; experienced, yet eager to continue learning. Candidates should enjoy polishing copy and should be able to do so quickly and efficiently. Must embrace the Web and its abundant opportunities for storytelling, entertaining, informing and engaging. You should be able to tell a status update from a friend request and a tweet from a twit. Candidates should have the ability and willingness to work well with a team. Strong organizational, management, leadership and supervisory skills are a must. Familiarity with Adobe InDesign helpful, as is experience with Adobe Photoshop. Candidates should have firm grasp of AP style. Minimum three years editing, newspaper reporting and/or writing experience.
