Paid internship @ Montana newspaper
The Flathead Beacon, a 13,000-circulation weekly print newspaper in Kalispell, Montana, is offering a paid 12-week journalism internship this summer.
The ideal candidate will be eager to take on a heavy workload, balancing enterprise reporting for the print edition with daily assignments for the web. He or she will also be responsible for blogging, copyediting and managing content on our website. It’s a fast-paced environment here, so please don’t apply if you’re not willing to be a bit overwhelmed.
The intern will be paid a $2,000 flat fee (not a lot, but enough to pay rent and perhaps eat) and get the opportunity to work with a driven young group of journalists who still think this job is fun.
By April 15, send your resume and clips to Kellyn Brown at editor@flatheadbeacon.com, or if you insist on mailing them, send hard copies to 217 Main St., Kalispell, MT, 59901.
