Paid writing internships @

Nerve, a Manhattan-based online magazine dedicated to sex, relationships and culture, is looking for recent college graduates and current students to join our intern class. You'll come aboard for April and May with the possibility of staying on through the summer if it's a good fit.

We are an award-winning web site producing original content covering the lives and interests of culturally obsessed men and women in their 20s and 30s. Nerve celebrates the sexiness and challenges of being young and single with its true stories, smart pop culture coverage, blogs, and advice. We're a home for 1.5 million monthly readers where lively, strong and opinionated voices bring readers to the front lines of their current entertainment obsessions and social lives in an uncensored way.

So if you're smart, thrive on pop culture, love to be in the scene and have the talent to match, then we want you in our Soho loft. Two or three days a week is what we are asking. You'll spend your days pitching and writing for Nerve, being a key driver of the editorial process and doing other sundry tasks for the office.

Unlike many internships, Nerve prides itself of having an actively managed program where our interns make important contributions to our site. We look for rising stars who want hands-on experience pitching ideas, following trends, and supporting the needs of editors and management, and learning the ins and outs of online publishing. Innovative thinkers who can demonstrate fresh content ideas move to the front of the line.

Pay is about $200-$300 month. More importantly, this is a chance to have fun doing something you love. Sound great? Then tell us about yourself with:
- A resume
- A short blurb on who you are and why Nerve would be a great fit
- A few ideas for pieces you think could run on Nerve
- A writing sample. Please no academic writing, college papers, poems, short stories, erotica, or links to stuff you wrote on your blog. We want smart, conversational writing that demonstrates your pop culture sensibilities and voice. Try to supply a piece of writing you could imagine running on the site.

Please stick everything in the body of the email. No attachments!
Send your stuff to with 'April Intern" in the subject by MONDAY MARCH 28
