Paid summer intern @ CNN Money in NYC

CNN Money is offering a paid summer internship in its New York City newsroom.

Internship runs from June 6th through August 26th and pays minimum wage. Students must have completed their sophomore year of college and may not have graduated college or graduate school prior to the start of the internship. College credit is available.

Our Interns will work closely with Money Unit staff to gain insight into the editorial process. They strengthen their research skills while contributing to the show and participating in futures meetings. In the field, interns have the opportunity to accompany producers on stories. In production, interns learn how to set up a script with tape and write using CNN’s database. Interns learn how to use CNN’s tape database to locate tapes for packages and sound bites for air. Often, interns book and greet show guests and assist in basic Administrative tasks. Intern’s schedules vary and occasional weekend work may be required.

In order to facilitate the learning experience, the following qualifications are preferred. Candidate should be seeking a career in print, broadcast, or online journalism. Should be self-motivated, able to multi-task, have a good attitude, and be able to function well in an environment with short deadlines and quick turnaround projects. Experience in digital video production is preferred.
