A paid summer internship is available for Anderson Cooper 360, a CNN show that covers politics and world news.

Internship is based in New York City, runs from June 6th through August 26th and pays minimum wage. Students must have completed their sophomore year of college and may not have graduated college or graduate school prior to the start of the internship. College credit is available. Candidate should be seeking a career in politics and/or journalism. Should be self-motivated, able to multi-task, have a good attitude, and be able to function well in an environment with short deadlines and quick turnaround projects.

Interns gain insight into the editorial process while interning at CNN NY. They strengthen their research skills while contributing to the show and participating in futures meetings. In production, interns learn how transcribe tape, use the various CNN databases, write for air, and work with producers from story inception to finished package. Interns will have the opportunity to accompany producers on stories in the field. Often, interns book and greet show guests and assist in basic Administrative tasks. Intern's schedules will vary and shift throughout their internship so they can participate in all aspects of the show.

Potential Opportunities: Interns have the opportunity to participate in how the show ideas are developed, how videotape is gathered and edited, the script-writing process, and how the program is built from an editorial and production perspective. Assist Associate Producers, Tape Editors, Assignment Editors, and Producers in New York.
