Editorial asst. job @ SC Magazine in NYC
SC Magazine, a global magazine that covers IT security, has an opening for an Editorial & Sales Assistant in the New York office.
This position provides a great opportunity to gain experience, knowledge and expertise in both editorial and sales functions, with some assistance needed for events planning as well. Generally, however, duties would be split about 50/50 between the editorial and sales departments.
The successful candidate will be confident, inquisitive, conscientious, responsible and enthusiastic, and should possess a strong desire to learn and progress. The need to be proactive in staying ahead of myriad project deadlines also is key.
Much of the role will involve providing general administrative support to both the editorial and sales teams, including managing budgets and expenses, meeting schedules and minutes, surveys, and subscriptions. Other tasks also would include maintaining databases and emailing out correspondence, overseeing the distribution on email newsletters, assisting editorial staff with live events, helping with editorial content on the website and in the magazine, and much, much more.
In short, if you’re a curious, knowledge-seeking Jack-of-all-trades, who wishes to get a taste of trade publishing from all sides and who thrives on collaboration and a job well done, this could be the job for you. Ultimately, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to take on as much responsibility as they can handle.
