German travel writer job

A new travel website is seeking a non-European writer to travel around Germany for 2 weeks and get paid to write about it. Here are the details:

Are you an experienced writer? A travel enthusiast? Addicted to fun Twitter and Facebook updates? Free to travel for a minimum of two weeks between August and October?

To create exciting content for our new website, www.germanrailpasses.com, Eurail.Com is looking for an enthusiastic and talented reporter with fluent English writing skills!

Your assignment: Travel through Germany and write about your experiences. Tourism highlights, rail journeys, how-to’s, travel tips; everything that travelers with a German Rail Pass will find useful.

Your content should be inspiring, complete but not exhaustive. The challenge is not to keep a personal blog, but to write professional articles that are ready to be put on our website.

Our offer: We will provide you with a complimentary first class German Rail Pass, which you can use to travel for 10 days in a period of 1 month. With this classic German Rail Pass, you can take all trains in Germany at no cost.

But that’s not all: Eurail.Com will also sponsor you with a €500 accommodation budget, and will provide you with an Internet connection to send Facebook and Twitter updates about your trip.

Oktoberfest? Castle route? Wine or beer tour? You are free to determine your own route through Germany’s highlights.

Does this sound like the job for you? Let us know why we should pick you! Write a motivational letter, preferably with some example articles, and send it to us at germanrailpasses@eurail.com on or before July 29. You can also post it to our Facebook wall at www.facebook.com/germanrailpasses. We will select our reporter on July 30. An interview with the winner will be published on our websites after that date.

Note: Travel expenses to arrive in Germany are the responsibility of the writer, but the €500 budget can be used to cover these costs.
