Editorial assistant job @ music magazine near San Francisco

Acoustic Guitar, a 68,000-circulation monthly magazine that offers information related to acoustic guitars for players of all levels from beginners to teachers, is seeking an editorial assistant.

The editorial assistant will assist with the magazine and its websites, newsletters, downloads, and books. The editorial assistant will help editors in publishing digital content on our instructional guitar site, AcousticGuitarU.com, as well as provide administrative support for the editorial department, generate content for marketing e-mails, and handle special projects.

Magazine is located in San Rafael, California, just 20 minutes north of San Francisco. Applicants for this full-time position must have previous publishing/web experience or a commensurate level of journalism education. Familiarity with programs such as Excel, Word, and Access is a must. The ideal candidate will be a skilled proofreader and writer, possess solid communication skills, and have a working knowledge of HTML. We're looking for a self-starter with an eye for detail and the ability to multitask and prioritize projects. Knowledge of and the ability to play guitar is a plus.
