Entry-level science journalism job in Washington, DC

Nature, a weekly scientific journal and science news magazine with 424,000 readers, is offering a 6-month, full-time, paid journalism internship.

Under the guidance of US and UK editors, the successful applicant will report and participate in news coverage for the print edition of Nature as well as for Nature’s news website (www.nature.com/news) and news blog. This six month internship, beginning March 5, 2011, is based in Nature’s Washington DC office. It is a full time paid position.

Applicants should be able to work legally in the US, be self-starting and have a keen sense for news in all areas of science and science policy. Applicants should have a strong background in science and also have completed a graduate program in science journalism or demonstrate equivalent work experience.
