Paid travel writing internship @ U.S. News & World Report

The Travel section at U.S.News & World Report is seeking a college or graduate student, or a recent graduate for an internship position. The position includes a significant amount of research, data analysis, writing, and reporting. We’re looking for someone who is web-savvy and able to juggle a variety of responsibilities. (Interns may also be required to perform tasks for the Money section if need be.) Our ideal candidate is a dedicated self-starter with a strong interest in online media, writing, and travel. Candidates with varied travel experience is preferred.

Requirements: Strong editing skills—you should be capable of being both editor and copyeditor, able to catch minor grammatical errors, and discern broader subject-matter problems. Ability to work on deadlines and handle several tasks simultaneously. Strong communication and organizational skills
Familiarity with content management systems a plus. Knowledge of Photoshop and photo editing tools a plus. Understanding of SEO concepts a plus. Degrees or training in journalism or communication a plus
Knowledge of HTML, XML, Dreamweaver, and InCopy a plus. Interns working during semesters are requested to work at least 20 hours a week. Our internship rate is $12/hour.
