Paid booking internship @ CNN this summer
CNN is offering a paid summer internship in its Booking Department in Atlanta. The 12-week internship runs from June 4 to August 10, pays minimum wage and college credit is available.
CNN Network Booking Department is responsible for working with a variety of networks and platforms for CNN Worldwide (including CNNUSA and CNN.com). Its main responsibility is delivering accurate and creative on-air guests segments and pitches and story ideas to all network entities, whether in breaking news situations, in the daily routine of vetting guests, or for special projects for on-air, on-line, and off-air content.
Interns may have the opportunity to learn and observe a number of functions within the department, such as the research aspects of finding and getting guest to air, managing our online interactive database, and preparing for future news events. Interns will have an opportunity to interact with television guests as greeters in the Atlanta bureau and occasionally assist in the preparation of editorial board or high-level meetings between newsworthy officials and CNN management. In addition, interns may learn how to prepare background reports on countries or past news events for biographical purposes.
Applicants must have completed their sophomore year in college prior to the start of the internship. In addition, applicants may not have graduated college or graduate school prior to the start of the internship.
