Bayou City Media, a chain of hyperlocal news sites in Texas, is hiring reporters to cover community news and events in The Woodlands and surrounding areas.

You will represent a media company with proven community news and information publishing success, looking to expand and improve. We have produced and operated community websites in the Houston area since 1996.

Ideal candidates will be self-starters, motivated and familiar with the Clear Lake community, capable of finding and writing clear, meaningful and locally-valued stories. Multimedia experience is a plus, including shooting and editing photos and videos. The job also requires some webmaster-like duties with reporters posting their own stories and events online. Persistence is required.

Your goal will be to establish a presence and to chronicle the community pulse in government, business, lifestyle, sports, events and personal interest coverage that will appear on a distinctive community website, ClearLakeToday.com.

Candidates must live in the Clear Lake area or be willing to relocate. Candidates must have their own equipment and transportation. Full-time and part-time positions are available. Family-friendly flexible hours can be accommodated.
