Journalism internship @ Brain World magazine in NYC
Brain World, a website and quarterly magazine about the brain, is seeking an editorial intern. Position is based in New York City and pays a small stipend.
This internship is for students looking to expand their writing and research skills and portfolio with work that ranges from blog stories to event and profile research, as well as news updates. This internship will give a student the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the journalism field.
Duties and Responsibilities: Stay up to date with news and developments related to the brain, health and education, locally in New York as well as globally; Initiate interviews and articles; Carry out regular research on identified topics of interest
Write blogs, edit articles; Write up the events and reviews sections of each BW publication; Ensure that fresh content is added regularly to the site; Stay current with social media trends, issues and opportunities.
Requirements: Basic to intermediate knowledge and skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; Excellent communication and writing skills, multitasking ability, attention to detail. Advanced knowledge of social media technologies, tools and capabilities.
