Paid work-from-home political blogging internship

Topix, a news aggregation site and discussion forum with 11 million unique visitors per month, is offering a paid political journalism internship.

This person will be responsible for curating a high volume of short pieces for a new political product. Ideal applicants are political junkies with an eye for interesting content, a strong pulse on the 2012 elections, and a friendly, casual writing style.
FYI - We are looking for a remote intern in the NY/DC area to briefly train in Palo Alto, CA at the beginning of the internship, but work from their East Coast home.

Job Responsibilities:
-Curating & writing a high volume of short stories around political news and issues
-Keeping a sharp eye for interesting content and spinning it in a straightforward, engaging way
-Staying up on the news around the 2012 elections
-Supporting the editorial team to keep our content fresh, exciting, and current

Requirements:
-BA/BS from a top tier university
-Willingness to take on morning and weekend work when needed to follow the election news cycle
-At least one year experience writing (blogging or working for a college newspaper would be ideal)
-Sense of humor and personality required (non-negotiable)
-Experience curating content on social media outlets (Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, Google+) a bonus
-Ability to see things through a conservative lens is a bonus!
