Paid internship @ The Economist

Young journalists can apply for a paid summer internship at either The Economist or its sister publication, CFO Europe magazine. The 3-month "Marjorie Dean internship" will be based in London.

"This award, financed by the Marjorie Deane Foundation, is designed to provide work experience for a promising journalist or would-be journalist, who will spend three months of the summer at The Economist, writing about economics and finance," the announcement states. "Applicants may also be considered, if they wish, for an internship of similar duration at CFO Europe, a sister publication of The Economist."

It's unclear whether this internship is for Brits only; however, the foundation's website says "Interships are open to all, regardless of age, sex etc."

By April 24, e-mail a cover letter and an original article of no more than 500 words that would be suitable for publication in The Economist to deaneintern@economist.com. Or mail it to the Business Affairs Editor (Deane internship), The Economist, 25 St James’s Street, London, SW1A 1HG.
