Reporter @ Washington state radio station
KOZI AM & FM in Chelan, WA has an immediate opening for a Radio News Reporter to help us remain the most trusted multi-media source for quality journalism in North Central Washington. The successful candidate will carry responsibility for investigation, assimilation, writing, and production of local news and public affairs programming for this heritage community radio station. This position reports to the station's News Director.
The successful candidate will:
- Reside in the Chelan community
- Live and breathe local news
- Have excellent written and oral communication and speaking skills
- Service the information needs of listeners in communities we serve
- Understand the responsibilities of ethical reporting standards
- Be able to adapt to Small Market Radio in a destination resort community
- Understand that local radio news is not just a job, it's a lifestyle and it requires hard work, frequent long hours, and dedication
- Develop strong and trustworthy relationships with community leaders, and representatives for city, county, state, and national government agencies
- Attend and report in a timely manner the issues and outcomes of assigned meetings of city, county, state, community and civic organizations
- Insure a high level of product quality and encourage innovation
- Keep news, community information, and blogs on the station’s new media platforms constantly fresh and updated
- Have acute knowledge of the station’s broadcast, operational, and audio editing equipment
- Insure compliance with copyright laws
- Attend staff meetings and station functions as required by station management
- Contribute to a creative, productive and collaborative work environment
