Paid Fall journalism internships in D.C.
March 15 is the deadline to apply for a Fall placement in the Scripps Howard Foundation Semester in Washington program.
The hands-on journalism program brings six junior and senior print journalism majors to Washington, D.C., for three academic terms -- fall, spring and summer -- where they function as reporters for a web-based wire service. Stories are available to any newspaper in the country. The 14-week Fall program includes a $2,520 stipend, free housing and academic credit.
Interns cover everything: politics, breaking news, business, sports and features, including home and garden, health, fitness, technology, travel and food. They also attend lectures from experts at the Capitol, the Supreme Court, the Student Press Law Center, the Washington Post, the State Department, the Pentagon and others to better understand how to cover the news.
